Day 1 -
• Present a slide show of paper mache sculpture and Oxacan folk art.
• Students draw 6 #2 pencil sketches
Day 2/3 -
• Show students how to draw a dome. Then demonstrate colored pencil techniques of smooth layering, color mixing and gradients.
• Have students finish 6 #2 pencil sketches and then start 3 large colored pencil sketches.
Day 3-
• Show students how to create an armature using AL foil and masking tape.
• Review Al foil clean up procedures
Day 4/5-
• work day
Day 5-
• Demonstrate paper mache use and steps. One layer of newspaper, then 1-2 layers of copy paper.
• Review paper mache clean up procedures
